Made a post earlier about hooking up two pc's t one monitor, and learned about KVM switches. Thanks for the help there.

My LCD monitor has AVI and analog plugins, and auto switching - so I will hook up both pc's directly there.

Is there a simpler way to combine the keyboad and mouse to work with both pc's without a KVM. I was thinking that 'Y' cords might do the trick.

Any ideas? Thanks for the help.

Doubt it, and it'd be a bad idea unless you could lock the mouse on one of them. Otherwise you'd be moving both mice at the same time, god knows what you'd end up doing to the other computer...

I think a KVM is the only real option, but if anyone does know of a better method then i'm all ears.

KVM is your only option. You just need a simple $30 or less KVM really.

That doesn't make sense. Do you really want to be typing the same thing on both computers at the same time?

I want to be able to use one keyboard and mouse on two pcs. One pc will be mine, and one will be the eifes.

I know there are easier ways - such as her having her own id separate from mine on the same hd/same pc. Problem is my piddlin has lost info for her too many times, and she wants her own. We do not have room for a completely separate system, so we will share the mouse and keyboard with two pcs. They will not be on at the same time.
