Somebody is. I sold a pair of busted Abit VP6s for over $100. I said flat-out like 3 times in the auction that they did not work.
You know who bought them? The guy that runs
badcaps.net. He was willing to hedge that at least one of them could be salvaged by replacing the capacitors.
And you know what? He was able to repair BOTH and he resold each one for more than what he paid for both put together.
A steady hand and you could fix this and turn it around for a profit. In fact, if you have a steady hand and are good with a soldering iron and a multimeter, you could do pretty well for yourself buying busted stuff on Ebay and reselling it.
