So that I could see snow again!!

We are in the process of a move from Austin to Houston and I'm looking out of the hotel window and the car hoods are all covered with snow. It isn't sticking to the ground yet...but it's a big difference from the 70 degrees that it was yesterday.

That's crazy I never knew Texas had snow. How far south does it fall in the states? What's a typical area that people assume get's no snow but really does every year? And by "people" I mean people like me in Canada who aren't familiar with the regions.

Yesterday San Antonio set a record high of 85. Overnight there was a slight dusting of snow, sleet and hail in the area. That system is what you are seeing in Houston. It is rare but not unheard of.

Brownsville got a decent snow several years ago, which is as far south as you can go in Texas.

Yeah, it was incredible - we actually made some (tiny) snowmen at a bar tonight (Richmond Arms, for the Houstonians).
