I killed my Epox 8KHA+.

It had an Athlon XP 1600+, 512 MB PC2100 DDR, one AGP GeForce3 primary video card, two PCI ATI secondary video cards, one TV Tuner card, one sound card (because the on-board sound died), and one NIC.

I replaced the Athlon XP 1600+ with a 2400+ and nothing happened. I put the 1600+ back on and after several attempts, it booted. When I was removing the HSF to try the 2400+ again, the screwdriver slipped and gouged the motherboard pretty bad. I've slipped before but this time, it really dug in. Now it won't even POST.

I think somewhere in that process, I may have fried the 2400+. I don't know yet. I'll address that later.

For now, I need to buy a new 133/266 motherboard.

I don't want on-board video since I already have 3 video cards and a tv tuner. I'm not big on sound so on-board sound will be good enough. Same goes for on-board LAN too. With on-board sound and LAN, I will need one AGP slot, and three PCI slots.

Any suggestions on the 133/266 motherboards they have on newegg.com?

I went looking around newegg.com. I'm leaning towards the Biostar M7NCD Pro. I like the fact that the FSB and AGP are variable. It will support my current hardware, plus provide an easy upgrade path to an 8x AGP card, and 333 Mhz memory bus.

Does anyone have experience with this motherboard?

Any comments?
