so about 3 weeks ago i thought i broke my computer rite so after much research i bought some more equipment and last nite when i was installing the crap it still wouldn't work and got piss off at myself for destroying the 400$ video card and had to look at the manufacturer's website to find the procedure/cost for repair when i suddenly realized i forgot to plug the power to the card

so i was removing memory from my mobo (3am in the morning, was having insomnia)
when i forgot to unplug the power cord from the pc and the red light was on (5v standby?)
and when i power it on i got the long 4sec beep , silence, repeat....(thought i smell some
burning smell too)

so thinking it's either dead memory or cpu, took them out to test on different
pc.....satisfied they're functional, i order the nf7-s2 again 2 weeks later after much
thought and hook it up last nite to get the same goddam noise!!!!.....
and to compound my idiocy, i wrongly deduced it was the pny 6800gt being dead

.....defeated, i went to other computer to look for rma info when i came upon the
pdf manual....open it, scroll real fast and chance upon the diagram where it instruct
to plug molex into vid card for additional power...

lo and behold nothing is broken!

just a case of senior moment/ mr magoo syndrome

now i have an extra mobo.....gonna see how well it oc a xp1600 tbred w/ 2x512mb
pc2700 and 1x256mb pc3200

HAHAHA i've done this myself as well, except that it took me about 10 minutes to realize what i didn't do ahahahha

10 minutes, I know it's still quite a bit of time, but the dudes who's been around biulding 2 grand machines powered by 286's, just not used to that video card having its own power input hahaha
