I keep runnin into liberals who can't understand how conservatives could be so stupid

to vote the way they do and the answer, of course, is that it is not stupidity that makes them vote as they do, it is truthiness, a feeling in their guts, a form of religion. The part of their brains that process fear are enlarged and the part of their brains that damp down emotional reactions is underdeveloped. They have two brain defects that work in tandem. They experience novelty as threat and see threatening things with disgust in their guts.

They flock for safety and rationalize to defend their beliefs. They reason, in short, from terror. Any change will always be for the worst. A golden age is possible where nothing can rock their boat. And like any terrified animal they can get nasty because they always see that nastiness of theirs in you. But show them one little criticism and they call for the armies of Mommy to come and crush you. And they are not stupid because they are brilliant at this. No form of reason or logic can ever get through.

So my dear liberal friends, in my opinion, at least, I do not see them as stupid. They just have a terrible handicap.

I disagree, I think a lot of the tea party types for example are just affected more by organized propoganda.

That way after Obama, Elizabeth Warren, etc etc lose they can simply console themselves with the thought that the intended beneficiaries of their wisdom don't recognize their genius and vote instead for the primitives in the GOP against their own self-interest.

I have discovered after long and exhaustive research that this often means that folk can see what I say up to the limits of their understanding, at which point further up the the mountain is shrouded in fog.

I really think going the biological route is in poor taste.
