I keep getting Sobig.a

When I open outlook express it keeps reloading new copies of old e-mail. Norton catches and automatically deletes w32/sobig.a@mm virus. I then scan the computer and there is no sign of it. Then when I open outlok express it's the same thing all over agin. Sobiga is back. I tried a system restore and that doesn't help.

ANyone have experience with virus.

Option 1:

Does your e-mail provider offer webmail? If so, log in via webmail and delete the infected e-mail.

Options 2:

Disable Norton and turn off the "preview pane" in Outlook Express. Download your mail and delete the problem e-mail. If you don't trust OE, perhaps you could try a client that doesn't execute scripts, like Eudora, to download your mail.

That's all I got.

It keep reinfecting like I said. Says I'm getting it from the e-mail BIG@BOSS.COM.
Problem is that Norton automatically deletes it and then it comes back.

Like you said. I'll disable norton and download the e-mail and then maybe I'll block it at the server level.

I had this same damn thing happen on another computer and I can't remember how I finally got rid of it.

Thanks for your help.

I continue to lose faith in Norton to completely remove things.

On some of these nasties you have to go to the Symantec web site and DL a special removal tool.

I tried the tool and no go. What did work was setting up OE mail rules to delete the ah heck off the mail server.
