I keep getting porn popups ALL THE TIME!

I've really only been looking at AT today, but I'm getting at least 1 every 10 minutes.

I don't imagine these are comming from AT, so how do find out how these things are comming up? I've cleared my cache. Could there be some program running in the background? How would I check? (I'm running Win2k and IE 6)

Adaware.

Then get a popup blocker or a browser like Opera or Mozilla with a built in popup blocker.

I haven't seen a pop up in a long time. Not since I started using Opera.

Stop visiting pr0n sites. You've probably got enough spyware, adbots, dataminers, and JavaScript trojans to choke an elephant. 😛

I don't know...have you ever actually tried to choke an elephant with spyware? It's hard dude.

I'd say when the counter hits four digits under AdAware 6, it's time to reformat. :Q (No, that wasn't my rig.) I'm clean except for the occasional doubleclick cookie that sneaks in from an unblocked server. :disgust:

Well Adaware found 48 things and it took care of them. I'm usually pretty careful, but I guess you can't catch everything.

Always say no to the gator. I finally bought my own computer to quit using the one my sister and father use which is so full of crap programs like kazaa, grokster, and yes gator too. i took care of it once, but they insist on putting them back. ugh, un-tech savvy users thinking otherwise. okay, maybe i'm being harsh, but for as much time as they both spend on the net, you'd think they would have this figured out by now. I learned it real quick, and besides, if you don't need it, why say 'yes' anyway
