I'M DONE WITH SCHOOL FOR THE YEAR!!!!!! I CAN SLEEP IN!!!! WOOHOO!!!! and :cookie: and :wine: for everyone! I'm homeschooled, and I started school much earlier than other people, and didn't take any time off for spring break, easter, only 2 days off for christmas, etc, and because of that I'm done and I go see the evaluator who checks whether I pass or fail at around 3pm today. I have all A's or B's so I don't think I'll have a problem passing :D. Just thought I'd share.

P.S. I'm 14, just finished 9th grade, and am moving on to 10th grade. I started 1st grade when I was 5.

how do you like being homeschooled?

do you miss the social interaction that goes along with standard education?

I love being homeschooled, and I think that I am alot smarter because of it. I took the SAT test last year and I was ranked 99th percentile in language arts and 97th percentile in math in all the kids in the country.

Was waiting for someone to ask this question, I went to a homeshooling group every monday for about 5 years and met tons of people, and got alot of social interaction with them. I quit that group a year ago, and switched to the youth group at the church which is every wednesday and I meet alot of people there.

Actually the computer teaches me. It plans out everything I have to do for each day, when tests are supposed to come, when projects and essays are due, etc... and it grades me for everything I do instantly.

EDIT: Until 2 years ago my mom taught me everything though, and she went through a curriculum book that showed what I had to do and had lessons in it to do etc.

P.S. I know my spelling and grammar sucks but I just woke up.

My mom wakes me up at 7-8 each day to start usually, and I thought most people woke up at that time to go to work

My mom wasn't a teacher. We go online and find the computer curriculum for whatever grade i'm going into, and it contains everything I will need for the next grade, essays, projects, lessons, tests, everything. All tuned to the difficulty of the grade that I'm in. Yes there is a local standard, when we see the evaluator, he looks over everything I've done through the year, and writes a letter to the school district superintendent. He reads the letter, and decides whether I've passed or failed.

Congrats! And you are probably a lot less stressed than those of your peers who go to public/private schools. My bro is homeschooled, he likes it bc normally he does work from 8am-1pm and then he's done.

actually, i use that line with all my little nieces and nephews who always complain about school and doing homework. i act compassionate then drop that line on them. actually, its pretty funny to see their reactions to it.
