Apparently Cingular's service to check your minutes as you go throughout the month is not totally accurate, and can be seven days behind. Since I use that as a reference as to how much more I can talk in the month, I managed to go over by about $100, at .45 a minute. Luckily, Cingular did say they'd cut that 50%, but still, I'm a moron. This is the first time I've EVER been over on my cell phone bill, too.

that sucks. i went over $130 other month. this month went over 95 min, good thing had 96 rollover mins 😛

A few years ago with Tmobile I was never charged for Voicemail + I got free WAP and more mintues. Now I'm switching from Cingular to Tmobile, getting 1000 minutes vs 450 for $40, a new phone, and full Internet by proxy for $6.

$6?

My plan from Alltel doesn't charge for VM retrieval

I screwed up and used my phone alot when I was on vacation in CA last month. Pretty much doubled my normal bill, and then some

I went over to this girls house a couple weeks ago. Her cellphone bill was sitting on the table. $290!

I was like uh...that's a lot! And she's like "thats normal"

why doesn't she just upgrade her plan?

Link corrected. Cricket now has unlimited text messaging, unlimited local minutes and unlimited long distance minutes for $45 a month.

Cingular is the worst. $600 bill here. Only $125 covered by work expense.

Sucks to be a contractor but have to have a job.
