I purchased the Regular Edition on DVD, I purchased the Extended Edition on DVD, there's NO WAY I can purchase a High-definition version (AFAIK), so I figure this is fair game.Originally posted by: Skoorb

Let me get this straight, you downloaded an HD resolution full length LOTR:TTT?
I call BS on that, how big were the files?
Viper GTS
I wonder if it's a true 720p and not upconverted from the DVD. It may have been leaked from some theatre with a digital projector.Originally posted by: SaltBoy

Just 50% more lines of resolution....depends on what you think is "a whole lot better"
HD is far superior to DVD
I would put my money on upconverted from DVD, anything that was projected in a digital theater would be MUCH higher resolution, & the odds of anyone getting ahold of that would be virtually nil.

What makes you think a digital projection would be that much higher resolution? I've always had the understanding that DLP has been dominating digital projectors for cinemas and at most they support 1280x1024. I don't think showings at digital theaters are really much high resolution than HDTV. I think the main difference is the movie isn't compressed to hell and back to fit on a multiple DVDs or harddrives.Originally posted by: Viper GTS
