Wow, that sounds wrong, but not Tricky Dicky, but Cynthia. She can't beat Cuomo- no one can- but "Anybody but Cuomo" is where I'm at as he's corrupt even by DC standards. Nope.

I have to admire what an amazingly clumsy wuss Cuomo has been in the run up to a primary he should easily win just by not being stupid.

While Nixon never stood a chance I've seen people recently admitting they will vote for Cuomo just based on her complete lack of experience. The outsider status has lost some of it's appeal it seems.

NY politics is also a cesspool of politics, the governor is not a position for a political newbie.

On the other hand, I feel like I could vote for Nixon just to send a message to Cuomo that he needs to remember which party he belongs to and what values and ideas he should be pushing for in NYS.

I also voted for Cynthia Nixon this morning!

I didn’t vote for her because I thought she would do a great job, I voted for her because I would vote for literally almost anyone opposed to Andrew Cuomo. He is a gigantic corrupt, worthless piece of shit.

I haven’t looked into Cuomo’s Republican opponent but so long as they aren’t some Trumpist I will vote for them as well.

Same here and I think that we're considering options does not speak well of Cuomo for those who aren't saddled with him in NY.

Going to vote for her in a few hours.

My reasoning is, just like Cuomo derailed the Harvey Weinstein investigation because of a bribe, he might pardon/ derail the investigation into Trump's family and I really want them held accountable.

I'm also going to be voting for Teachout in AG because of the outsider status.

I went with Teachout too. Nixon has real faults but I can't abide the 21st century Boss Tweed.

Cuomo is like the Ted Cruz of NY. So many people hate him, but he keeps getting elected.

It would be great to see another surprise upset victory for the Dems.

I don't think Ted Cruz is comparable and I really don't like him. I'm still thinking William Tweed.

Seems like a lot of people are voting Nixon as a protest but they assume Cuomo will win.

I don't think Cuomo can be beaten. He and a few others controls state politics. I'm not kidding when I say he's more powerful as an Executive than any US President.

It was the re-election angle I was commenting on mostly, that and I never hear anyone say anything good about Cuomo - just like Cruz. Even Texans (R) admit the guy is a complete prick.

Cuomo seems more 'business corrupt' than 'mob corrupt' to me, but then I'm not a NY resident or thoroughly fluent in Cuomo's career. I guess I'll defer to your NewYorkness.

I don’t disagree but the gap might be narrower than polling indicated.

Congrats!

Serious.
For all its faults, I like NY - it just has a lot of out-of-touch people that keep getting elected to office. I'm just moving for personal reasons (fiance lives in another state) and my company is going to let me work remotely.

Unfortunately, I'll still be paying taxes on my wages to NY because of its "convenience of the employer" rule.

You sound like me. Happily lived here for 30+ years but there was a 8 year gap during the great recession when I relocated to Singapore.

To be honest, other than Tokyo, Hong Kong, Barcelona, Singapore I wouldn't be happy anywhere else.

It's not like I'm moving to the sticks - I'm moving up to a neighboring city of Boston.

What I find absolutely hilarious is the notion that a progressive running against a corrupt politician could somehow be worse. Democracy is dead and can only be saved by revolution, like voting any who don't promise to get money out of politics out and act on that promise when elected.

Cuomo wins the nomination easily.

Albany could look a bit different tho as D turnout is up huge compared to 2014. Sever former IDC pols look to lose their primaries and some more seats will flip D in November. Cuomo might have to actually bother trying to deliver what those voters want in this next term.

Looks like 6 of 8 former IDC members are behind in the count right now. It would be nice to see a NYS senate that would actually pass some progressive legislation that the Assembly has previously passed.
