I just used an ENTIRE roll of heavy duty duct tape in less than 15 minutes!

***Why I required duct tape***

The house I live in is somewhat old. It does not have the standard "slide" windows where you simply push up the window to expose your room to the outside through a screen. These windows are crank windows. I have heard them being called a form of "casement" windows. To expose your room to the outside through screens, you must crank each window open, and the entire windows will be open, not just half, (like what you can do with sliding windows). What we do is just set an AC on a chair or something, and push it against the window. This sucks though, because the cranked windows need to be open so that the AC can be facing the outside air. This means that the air can escape out through the rest of the window. This is not very effective, but is better than nothing.

***The duct tape goodness***

This has worked for awhile, but it cannot keep up with this heat we have been getting. Therefore, what I did this time, was I used an entire roll of duct tape to cover all of the window around the AC. These windows are pretty big, so covering this whole windows took just about the entire roll of duct tape.
After about 10 minutes, my room has turned into an icebox.

Thank you duct tape!!!!

Part of a cardboard box could have saved you most of a roll of duct tape.

Pre-planning FTW!

When I had some casement windows all I did was disconnect the cranking mechanism, remove the window from the frame, mount the ac unit either right side up (if it fits) or sideways, cover the rest of the window frame opening with a piece of plexiglass or plywood (also used to support the ac unit), and plug it in.

Works great.

duct tape is like the force, it has a light side and a dark side and binds the universe together ;)

Where did I see the duct-tape wallet? Probably the Red/Green Show.

Everywhere? It's basically the most popular, yet easy to make, DIY duct tape thing. I made one once but it sucked; I picked up some good black duct tape some time ago and I plan on trying again. :D

One time I was on assignment and forgot my ninja stars. I felt like such a bag of douche. Luckily I found some duct tape and created a few stars from it. Needless to say it worked great.
