I just switched my processor....

Is some of the thermal paste came off with the old processor, and the rest is on the stock heatsink. Im gonna reuse the stock heatsink since i cant find any after market btx heatsinks.


If i were to apply some arctic silver is it mandatory that i clean off the old stuff? or could i get away with applying over it?

Yeah, alcohol works great. I use a little bit of an old tshirt and some 70% isopropyl, stuff comes right off.
