The problem was I was told I was on the right track by my immediate supervisor only to have the former Sr. Engineer that used to be on my team pwn me in the face saying that I was doing it wrong.

I did that in an Anthropology class in college once. The teacher I did a research paper based on research, but then got graded down for not doing my own analysis. I said, I am a business student, were not trained to think for ourselves. But he had no sympathy.... I got laid last week.
