I just signed up for netflix! Im excited!

What are your experiences with netflix? When should i recieve my first dvds....i live in long island, NY.....

I haven't had a problem with them myself. In fact shipping has been very fast.

Ok I guess once I had a problem. I was supposed to get a certain DVD that they said I had out and never got it. BUT, I contacted them and told them it never arrived so they just said "If you ever find it send it back" and that was the end of it.

So, overall, I'm quite happy with them.

1 day turn time from ship to receive, but I live in the same county as the distribution center. I'm happy with it.

search "netflix" for a couple of older threads suggesting good non-Hollywood movies to rent.

Also, Joss Wheedon's Firefly series is much better on DVD than it was on Fox -- Fox skipped the pilot that introduced and set up the characters, scrambled the episode order, and skipped showing a couple of very well-written episodes. Highly recommended for intelligent, grown-up TV with the same wit as in the better Buffy and Angel episodes.

My shipping time is 3 days each way. Distribution center is about 400 miles away.
But I'm still very happy with them.
I've been a member for around 6 months. Never had a problem.
I watch about 10-12 movies a month.
