I know there was already a thread posted about it somewhere around here.

But whoever posted that thread, I must say: ARE YOU AN IDIOT? Didn't you ask "were there really aliens"?

What did you think the gigantic dark green thing in his living room was? His dog?

On to the movie itself... without giving any spoilers... I thought it was very well done. The events all came together at the end. The flashbacks weren't boring or nonsensical. Lots of suspense.

Yep it was extremely suspenseful. It was one of the best movies I've seen in a long time.

I didn't like it either...
Contact was much more thought provoking and had a better script. IMO

I thought the ending was weak... ruined a perfectly good movie.

I agree, horrible ending. For some reason this movie didn't do a thing for me, i felt no suspence whatsoever. I left feeling like the movie should have been considerd a comedy. The humor is the only part that made it somewhat enjoyable. The way the events came together in the end was pretty damn corny. Dose anyone else hate the way M. Night Shyamalan puts himself in all his movies?

I saw Signs yesterday with my wife and, get this... 4 other people in the theater.
I thought the movie was suspenseful, I liked the theme of the film. But I must admit, the ending was a little weak. We saw a lot of Mel's face but really couldn't get what was going on in his head. The flashbacks were helpful, but not enough.

I like it when directors can shave a few bucks off the production costs by acting in a film themselves. I wouldn't want to go up against M. Night Shyamalan in the For Sale/Trade forum. ;)

The movie was awesome, but the ending.....

I agree it sucked, but how should it have ended?

Mel finding his faith again was fine. But there should have been more drama/turmoil in his thinking about it.
I thought the problem was, yes there was drama/turmoil going on in his mind... but the audience wasn't let in on it.

Signs was a dumb movie and way overhyped. It had two moments.

1.) When Mel first saw part of the alien's leg in the cornfield at night and took off running.
2.) When the alien grabbed the kid down at the basement., but by then , the movie was already fvcked
because of the lame independence day theme, and the really corny twist that the aliens are afraid of water that was just lame.
Also these envading aliens are using their fist and body gas to fight everyone, how advance is that? I swear, if you can beat the cr@p out of one alien with a baseball bat imagine what the US army would have done to them. And the Indian dude, he trapped the alien inside his kitchen all by himself and the alien couldn't break through a wooden door.

heh:p as i've said b4, the only rational explanation for the aliens behavior is that they are simply hunting for kicks. a strange hunter/warrior culture i guess. get a few trophies, or some nice meat to bbq:p

The movie wasn't all bad but it sure was melodramatic and even unintentionally laughable severable times. There was some good suspense but the actions of the characters was so unbelievable that it took me out of the movie completely sometimes.

Decent movie that could have been much better with a little effort.

heh you mean like taking every opportunity to leave a possible weapon behind? :)

me thinks swinging away with a pick axe or whatever would have made for a f*cked alien:p
