I just saw my first Hurling game...

My dad and I decided to hit up the local Irish bar for a Guinness today. Out back they had a hurling game going on so we decided to check it out. Neither of us had ever seen one before so we were trying to figure it out as it went along. Does anyone know what the different scoring is worth. They had 2 scores up on the board, one for getting it in the net and one for hitting it over the net through the uprights...kinda like a field goal. Im guessing the goal in the net is worth more but the final score was somethign like 5 10 to 4 11 so we didnt know if we should have beem cheering or pissed.

After this game they started playing some weird version of soccar where they could use their hands and they had the goal/field goal score in this one to. Anyone know what this game might have been?

Hurling is field hockey with one rule change - you are allowed to swing at your opponents head.

The second game was Gaelic Football.

Someone did bust his lip after taking something in the face. Shortly after one of the players tossed his broken stick into the crowd. This is the coolest game iver never understood.
