I just saw episode two tonight with a friend who got a bootleg. I understand that many may not want to hear what I am about to say, so DONT READ.

Anyways I wont be too specific, but I was very disappointed. Possibly worse than TPM and definitely sub-par as compared to 4,5, and 6. There is, thankfully, very little of Jar-Jar, but frankly, the dialogue/script is horrible. It seems like Lucas had some good intentions, but really didnt bother to edit them at all. Basically I would say my chief disappointment was that the movie did not have an "epic" feel to it as 4,5, and 6 did.

Not to say that the entire movie is horrible. The fight scenes are excellent, expecially the light saber ones. The movie answers many expected and unexpected questions, but also makes the 4th, 5th, and 6th very plausible, and/or continuous.

One more thing, a slight spoiler, so you may not want to read on:

SPOILER:

there is a fight scene with yoda with a light saber

Who said anything about piracy? He might have attended a pre-screening. :D

Oops I missed the bootleg part . . . expect a knock at your door in the middle of the night for your "confession".

What did you think of the Tusken massacre?

Maybe some of you can answer this for me:

How much time elapses between Ep2 and Ep 6? In Ep2, Yoda is very active . . . in EP6 he is decrepit and dies of old age - at about 900 years old.

IIRC . . .

Ep1 ---> Ep2: 10 years
Ep2 ---> Ep3: ?
Ep3 ---> Ep4: 20 years
Ep4 ---> Ep5: 2 years
Ep5 ---> Ep6: 1 year

I haven't seen Ep 2 . . . how could I enjoy it (if at all, anyway).

We know that Anakin is father of Luke and Leia . . . therefore Yoda loses his extraordinary abilities as a Jedi master in less than a single human generation.

A lot of people age all at once. ;) 900 years down the drain too quickly . . . :D . . . A pity that is.

this is kinda off topic, but I have not watched episode 2 yet.

I do have a ticket for the first midnight showing, and I will see it then. However all this talk of bootlegs and how the movie sucks only makes me want to see the film more.

Two weeks ago I wasn't even thinking about Attack of the Clones, but now its a "must see"

mesa wondering how little?

5 to 10 mins?

that would be okieday with mesa. ;) :D

about 1 minute spread through the entire movie, perhaps 30 seconds of speaking total, so that is much better :D

I wouldnt discourage anyone to see it, because I am still going to see it in the theatre anyways, but it just saddened me how much Lucas has lost it.

Tusken Massacre: I am not sure what you mean by this, the total massacre was less than 30 seconds, but I did think that Anakin's transformation, if you would call it one, was rather weak.

Why would anyone want to watch a bootleg of anything?....the quality sucks and most screeners have horribly distorted sound.

You could tell everyone you saw the movie, but thats like saying you got laid (but forgetting to mention it was a fat, old lady.)

haha, your just jealous ;) Yeah, the quality was pretty bad, but we watched it on a tv through video out. Anything from 10 feet away looks better

by transformation, I meant that you could tell that it was the snapping point, he contually got worse through the movie, but not yet Vaderish

Does that mean that the droids, R2D2 and 3CPO are 40+ year old technology?

You keep asking people this!

The massacare wasnt that long to be of any interest. And after it we had a whining complaining Anakin.

That's what you get for trying to watch something that you have to squint your eyes for the entire movie. I don't know about you guys, but I like the movie. It's not too bad if you watch it on theatre size screen and sound quality :)

It was long enough to be very interesting in the book.

Now the question I have is, are you guys full of sh!t, or did R.A. Salvatore add something to the novelization that's not in the movie? I'm leaning more toward the fecal side, to be honest.

In Ep2, Yoda is very active . . . in EP6 he is decrepit and dies of old age - at about 900 years old.

There's one particular line in EP2 that describes why Yoda becomes decrepit and dies of old age, etc (you'll have to watch it to find out, but it's pretty obvious when they mention it. Hint - it's something with the Senate).

Also, with the exception of 2 scenes, Yoda is still the frail, slow moving, decrepit Yoda that we know.

Yes, the massacre probably lasted about 3-5 seconds. You hear more about the massacre from Anakin recalling it through dialogue than the actual massacre itself. Also, I'd just like to add that Anakin is a certain type of cat and he's way too emotional to be a jedi.

but I did think that Anakin's transformation, if you would call it one, was rather weak.

I'm trying not to spoil anything, but you're interpreting it as weak because you're interpreting the idea incorrectly

Overall, it was an entertaining movie, and better than the phantom menace. Also, Jar's Jar's existence period is justified in one of his scenes (he's in the movie for less than 1 minute total).

If anyone else has seen it and wants to chat, PM me. I've got a few questions to discuss

weak as in poor acting and follow-through

the massacre was literally less than 1 minute total and not described or filmed at all
