Man, I hope he pays you good because he'll call you a lot. You know he will ask you to help him quite a bit. If I was you, I would have just told him to buy a dell. Their prices are so damn cheap now.
 
Lol I've had this kind of experience...

In the end, all my future requests from friends were directed to those ready made PCs (Darn Dell! 😀) to make my life easier. Tech support is really a pain in the @ss when they dun know anything about computers...

Yeah I did that for my Grandma, and she calls me fairly often. But I think the compensation of a $100 birthday check makes up for it 🙂 She was asking me if she should pay me, and I just told her to send whatever she thought appropriate for my birthday, kill 2 birds with 1 stone. Not sure this strategy would work with a friend though.
