I bought a set of 5.1s at Best Buy last sunday and was feeling good. I set them up and popped in Lord of the Rings and I was feeling really good. Then I noticed the topic steve0 started about having trouble with his, a not so good feeling set in. I woke up this morning and was going to play some mp3s, turn on the speakers.....nothing. No sounds out of any of the channels, not even the sub. I turned them off to let them sit for a few hours while I was at school.

I did some research at school and it seems that everyone and their brother is having some sort of problem with the 5.1s. I get back home from school and try them again, this time I get sound out of the 2 front channels and sub but nothing from the center or back 2 channels. So I decide to return them to Best Buy instead of dealing with the trouble of sending them Klipsch and get replacements or trying to figure out what is wrong on my own and constantly have to troubleshoot $400 speakers.

I got my money back, except for $18 because I didn't have the original box (my parents threw it out :| ) and I don't think that I will purchasing any Klipsch products anytime soon. I guess I will just go back to my much smaller Cambridge Soundworks FPS2000 setup, or maybe I will go get some z560s.

Odd. I've got Klipsch's for my computer speakers and my entertainment system and I've never had a problem with them at all. Something wrong with the newer models?

Did you check/fool with any of the wires? I know my 2.1s can occasionally be picky and if I move them around or jostle them the wire connecting to the back can get unplugged/turned so sound doesn't come out. When I first got them I rotated the plugs going to the back of the speakers to get the sound to come out. Once they're set up they're golden though :).

if you bought them from bb, then just take them back and tell them the troubles that you've had, they will give you a new pair. a

as for me, i just went to bb, bought a set, replaced the shot sub that i have with the sub that was in the set from bb and brought them back... hey, why not let bb pay shipping ;)

but yes, for 400 bucks i see what your talking about, even though the sub that i have is working, there is some sort of noise for a few seconds when i turn their power off... guess i just have to go to bb again
