I just repaired a Laserjet p2015 by using my kitchen oven

I just baked the formatter card removed from the LJ at 350F for about 8 minutes

Damm, it worked!

I understand that there are a lot of broken p2015 out there...

Nice idea man. People do this with xboxes and PC video cards... Laptop mobos too! Why not do it with other circuit boards?

It probably wouldn't work as well with multilayered boards or high-precision joints. Presumably, the board in a LaserJet is rather simple or made to handle high-voltage - in both cases the solder joints would be larger and require less precision, which makes it a good candidate for this type of fix. 🙂

You have to be really careful also. To warm and while the top is reflowing, the parts are falling off the back on to the bottom of your oven.
