I just remembered why I never buy PC parts off ebay.

FS/T is always safer than Ebay. When you get hosed on Ebay, Paypal/Ebay could care less. The Mods/Members here actually help.

I've never recieved a bad product from the FS/T forums.

ugh. sorry to hear that man. Such an inadequate description though... he doesn't say anything about the actual status. Scary.

FWIW I only sell working parts on eBay. Scammers suck!

1. couldn't care less
2. If you paid with PayPal, chargeback for "wrong or misrepresented item" if the guy doesn't respond, they side with the buyer 9/10 times

Idioms
Couldn't care less. Also, could care less. Be completely indifferent.

Paypal cant do anything if the seller empties his paypal account, which the seller has plenty of time to do with the long wait time. Paypal is a joke.

That blows. Maybe it was just a case of the seller sending the wrong item to two people (switched by accident?). Hopefully the seller isn't an asshat about it.

Damn... those 2 boards aren't even close to being alike. Sorry dude.
I'm very picky about buying computer parts from ebay. About the only part I've bought from there is my 3ware 7500 RAID controller. Came from a reputable seller and has worked flawlessly since I got it.

It's funny, if you factor in the risk of buying from Ebay, any savings you might have get thrown out the window.

despite their being antonyms
Aka, "If you could care less, then why don't you?"

He also has to cut off his bank account, which he won't do if he plans to continue selling on eBay.

Well it's happened to me so I don't play around with non cc paypal anymore. No point flushing hundreds of $$ down the toilet.

And I guess we'll have to agree to disagree on could care less/couldn't care less, but I was always taught that both mean the same thing and I learned the idiom could care less first so that's why I use it.

What savings? Every time I look on there, the parts are going for over street price. Thats before factoring in the $25 shipping.

I always give people a chance to recover. If this guy comes back with an overnight tracking number for the correct board and says trash the old one, he can still pull in a positive feedback. Given that I've had ZERO communication from him, that's not likely.

Well, I figured out why he didn't respond to my emails. Hotmail doesn't deliver them, NOR does it bounce them from my normal email service! *tries a different service and prays*

DOH. Given his feedback, it seems like it may have simply been an honest mistake

I've learned not to sell any computer parts off eBay either. Two people bought parts off of me and I shipped them. They claimed they never got the parts even though I had delivery confirmation on it. Paypal still gave the money back to them! The next time I want to sell computer parts I'm going to post on FS/FT. How well are noobie sellers welcomed over there?

Confirmed: hotmail puts mail from all THREE of my normal email services straight to the junk mail bin.

...f'ing hotmail...

After finding thier phone number, I got a refund. My board is being happily used by someone in Chicago that this one should've gone to. Now to do what I should have done in the first place...
