How exactly do you get one for $30? I don't believe I saw an explanation. I bet shipping would kill the deal though 🙁

What are you gonna do with a sword?
Some people like them as wall ornaments.... have you ever gone to a store and seen how much people spend on just pictures for their wall?

Did you get it from those late at night knife collector dudes?

Those guys crack me up. They sell the crappiest knives I have ever seen.

LOL! I forgot about them.... me and my buddies would always watch them late at night back in high school... I remember one time the chunkier one actually cut himself while demonstrating how sharp this ninja sword (or whatever they're called) was.... i guess they run the show live or something.... It really was funny as hell... They always have really silly names too, like the "DragonSlayer 2000" i think was one...

Swords of this size were not designed for use against light armored troops, it is much to big and bulky to be swung fast enough. This sword was used to cut the legs out from under the horses of the armored knights. Then while the knight was recovering from his fall, the tip was then used to penetrate the armor and drive through the other side. Claymores were not made of cheap steel, Families often saved for years to buy a sword of this nature, family names and crests were often engraved on them. Do your research first.

Going to a Renaissance festival or just going to go chicken slaying?

looks like a good deal for 30 bucks, what is it made of(hopefully not aluminum because it cannot hold an edge)?

I doubt it, he said it was pretty heavy.

Looks decent, but a real Japanese Samuri sword could literally cut it in half. Of course the claymore is really designed to break bones through armor, not really for cutting although you can.

Not true. Claymore's are made of fairly cheap metal compared to other nationalitie's swords. they're designed to work best against lightly armored or unarmored opponents, because the thinness of the blade allowed it to be swung much faster, and the length of the blade gave it greater reach. it really is a good weapon to have if your opponent has a short sword and a shield, because you can keep him behind his shield and take pot shots for exposed portions of his body.

Any fighter with any talent at all would eat a Claymore wielding fighter for lunch with a short sword + shield.

One wiff with that huge blade and the faster short sword comes in behind and it's all over.

amish
