As long as Palin is still in the news Fey can continue making sketches about her. She won't get fired after that either, but there will be quite a few more sketches to come.

So no, I did not confuse them. If, in a fit of extremism, the Republican party chooses her to lead them in four years time (let's hope not), it will take a lot longer than when they 'promote her away to a small outpost in Alaska'. Oh wait, she's there already
