I'm sorry to hear that. My dad always told me "Look far ahead of you. Are there people infront of you? Yea. Look back. Are there people behind you? Oh yes."

While I understand you're feeling a bit down, I know this sounds corny, but think about how fortunate you are. It could be a lot worse :p

Why not go to a doctor and metion this? "Treatment for lazy eye may include a combination of prescription lenses, prisms, vision therapy and eye patching. Vision therapy teaches the two eyes how to work together, which helps prevent lazy eye from reoccurring."

Good luck man :)

Patching/etc generally has little effect once your visual cortex is fully developed.

It certainly wouldn't be impossible to teach your eyes to work together again, but it generally doesen't happen once you're a teenager.

<-- has amblyopia.

Seriously, that's rough. That's one of my greater fears in life; to develop wonky vision(wall-eyedness, cross-eyed, ambliopia). Though why are you just finding out now? Didn't your parents recognize it and say something in your younger years?

Hmm I dont know if it helps lazy eye, but my mom had pretty bad vision then she got that new (well, relatively new) laser eye surgery done... and she can see like a freaking hawk now. Definitely something to ask a doctor?

You need to work out. Some Eye Curls or Pupil Lifts usually help.

The Retinae Ups and Iris Stretches also help.

"i just realized i have amblyopia"

Self-diagnosing from internet symptomology descriptions is never a good thing. Please talk to an opthamologist.

The disparity in vision between your two eyes can work to an advantage later in life. I have one nearsighted eye and one with normal vision. As I age, the normal one becomes more farsighted and I can see well at a distance while the nearsighted one allows for closer acuity. The brain (marvelous thing that it is) just eliminates the image from the worse eye in each case and allows me to see both near and far without the glasses that I had worn all my life. Works for me!

I was told I would get this if I didn't a) use the computer less or b) look away from the screen at something far away every so often while using the computer. I was also recommended to sit farther away from the screen, but I think I already do well in that department.
