what kind of ram though? It's notched so you can't install it any other way. :confused:

it made one of the tabs fall out, it was kind of wedged in there enough to make me think it was secured at the time

About six months ago I bought my gf a 15" Powerbook G4 (1GHz, 256mb RAM) at a ridiculous price. She's a graphic designer and needed to run Adobe CS2 on it, and the memory wasn't cutting it. When I showed her how to open it to check if one or both SO-DIMM slots were being used, it took me a while to figure out what she was seeing...

...the previous owner had "installed" an additional 512mb SODIMM by laying it gently on the slot.

Less-than-$400 1ghz/768mb G4 Powerbook FTW!! :D

don't laugh, I did it too. only thing is, when I did it, it started a small fire and burned the plastic.
