I just realized I don't know how to strike a match....

you take the package and fold it backwards so that the little sandpaper strip is facing the cardboard from the front, then you squeeze the match in between the sandpaper and the outer cover and pull it out. Thats sounds knida complicated, its not.

Close match book, hold matchbook in left hand between forefinger and thumb (striking surface against thumb), put match between striking surface and thumb, grasp end of match with right hand, yank.

you can hold it down with your finger as well, just make sure you have a grip on the match with other fingers so you can quickly remove the one

Heh, ironically the most risky one worked the best! Held the stick between my middle and ring finger while striking with thumb, worked like a charm!
