Too bad you are not in Houston, as I wish you could come take care of my neighbor's cats...

I love cats, but I remember my driving school lessons.

"If an animal runs out in front of you, do NOT swerve to avoid it. Hit your brakes and try to stop, if you can't stop in time and hit the animal, too bad for it. It's not worth risking your life swerving your car around the road to avoid an animal."

I wish my mother knew this.... she swerves for DEAD animals, for JCs sake!

And those of you saying "good i hate cats", etc. I hope you die in a fire.

To the OP: A better person then I. I don't think i'd have the guts to finish the poor cat off and then clean it up.... :(

Don't sweat it. If they cared so much about it, they wouldn't leave it running loose all over the place!

that is obsurd. one could easily argue that if you cared about a cat then you would let it roam outside.

Guess that's what you'd call tough love!

i have had pet cats for most of my life and all of them roamed freely inside or out as they pleased. none of them were ran over.

I have had to bury two cats, that my ex-g/f's kids let go outside the house.:brokenheart:

Cars are not kind to small animals. :(

very true, one of my cats disappeared when I was 17. Never found out what happened to him, but I suspect some family stole him...there were always little kids petting him outside. I don't know how someone could steal someone else's pet.
Sucks you ran over the cat, but at least you feel bad about it and didn't leave it out for the possible owner to find. Sh!t happens.

i don't even know who it belonged to...hopefully it wasn't some kid's kitten...i scraped it up with a stick and a cardboard box and threw it in someone's poly-cart and covered it with the box...at least the kid won't come out in the morning and find his/her kitten dead in the middle of the street :(

i don't have much of an appetite anymore.
Sorry, I know that's not supposed to be funny, but it is....Just the way it was worded..

And since I know teh flame is coming, my cat died and I do know how it feels...She was older than I was..and teh cute...so there...

I do that STILL with one of my cats that went missing almost two years ago... went door to door for six blocks in each direction.. with pics and flyers... many of the neighbors on the next block told me that they were 99% sure this one old lady had him, but when i asked if she had seen him, she denied it and there is nothing i can do. Every time I pass that block, EVERY TIME... i get a lump in my throat and say... "i love you, Martin"

I am lame that way.

It was either a stray, or it had a really irresponsible owner. Regardless, it was young enough that the owner would not be devastated by its death, they'll just replace it. So sad though. :(
