i didnt go out in a bang like i had planned, but man it feels good.
EDIT:
so after graduating from college, i started for in the m&a group of a middle market investment bank. i guess on some level, i knew i wanted out of this firm and back to a bulge bracket bank back in nyc. the firm was cheap, led by a very narrow minded group head. i have heard that they gave ***** bonus to analysts and still worked them 90 hours a week.
needless to say, i was pretty much unhappy since day one. some of the things that really pissed me off is one of the VPs. the guy is a tumbling dickweed. he doesnt like to look through servers for files, so he would make you look for the file, either print it or send it to him. he would send you files for you to print for him. he would send you files to pdf so he doesnt have to do it. needless to say, he hogged a lot of resources and does not have efficiency in mind.
there are also other people (who are pretty much all my bosses), like the associates, who pawns off all their work on us poor analysts and leaving us holding the bag. they are pretty dumb too... roman numeral IV is pronounced as "I V" by them.
recently, after interviewing at 3-4 banks, i landed the big mother. they gave me the job on the spot, which i accepted. i quit my job yesterday, which was awesome. i had plans to point out all the mismanagement and all the inequities, but didnt go through with it. instead, i told them i burned out and couldnt hack it anymore. better to have them think i am a wimp than let them know i am going to a bank that is 100x better than theirs!!!
update 2: the said above VP is trying to get me to do his work while he lounges at home!!! wow, talk about the balls on some of these people. tsk tsk tsk. shame.
my insurance runs out tomorrow though, so that sucks. i will be uninsured for at least a month...
