I just put together a Duron System at Newegg for $248.00

...ssshhhhh Ndee... I know Switzerland lost the game but that's no reason to give the guy a hard time 😀

😛

But Holland will kick everyone's a$$! 😀

I'm looking to put together a very cheap computer so I can slap a couple 250 gb hard drives in it and serve (locally) all my files.

Hopefully I get some good ideas from this thread 🙂

you mean a theoretical system with all new parts? or do i get to use some of my old stuff?

all new stuff. putting it together to sell to a client of mine.

they don't do any graphics, no music, no video, just basic MS Word type stuff. rarely more than one app running at a time.

Case w/PS, keyboard, mouse, speakers - $38
mobo - $49
Duron 1.6 - $42
256MB PC2700 - $43
40GB HD - $51
52X CD-ROM - $14

Total $237

I think that's everything. I could get it below $220 with crappy RAM and mobo, but I went with brands I trust.
