I just purchased a PATA controller board with "1-lane 2.5Gbps PCI Express" Support

So why was the non "RAID" board the same price ($1 more at Newegg) There has to be more to it than just that. They're priced the same but have different features.

No matter. I have plenty of SATA raid ports on my mobo (10 I think). I just need for stable ATAPI support. Crappy Ultra100 TX2 doesn't work. I was just curious.
