Okay you know how you can put power-on passwords? Yeah well on my HP notebook I wanted to take off the password so i just made the new password "____" blank, you know? LIke in winXP how you can just press enter and you log on.

wellllll...... i turn on the laptop and i can't power on because it won't accept a blank password. Even though it accepted it in the bios. Crap. The old password doesn't work either. :(

there is always a way to bypass BIOS passwords. Go to HP's website and do a search for your model.

Reset the BIOS, then remove the battery for like 5 minutes. Maybe that'll do it.

This is a laptop, it likely won't be so simple.

What model laptop is it? I may be able to find something, I'm fairly familiar with HP's website.

This is a notebook guys, I'm not sure about resetting the bios like a standard desktop. I'd check HP's website

Take the main battery out, and then take out the CMOS battery. The CMOS info is volatile; it needs some power to retain information. If you take all of the power away from the computer, the CMOS will clear.
