Im super excited.. but have this one question. .. i have this mobo Epox 8rda+ and OCed it but am pretty new to it. The only settings that I have changed is the FSB in the bios. Im currently running Crucial pc2700 ram. If I run my fsb at normal 133, my ram says its 333. But when I run it over 180 FSB, it says its 266 or something like that. But its not 333 anymore. Isnt pc2700 suppose to be 333? Why does it change and how does it affect my memory?

Was pretty hard, huh? You had to press F1, select "CPU clock settings" and move a number up.

Mine was a bit more strenuous. I had to tell the BIOS to manually set clock speed, and then I had to select an FSB from a pulldown menu. A short while after I had done that, I found myself wishing I'd done some effective stretching and calisthenics, because the soreness actually hurt for a while..

IIRC, when your memory is running 333, its actually running cpu fsb(133 (266DDR)) + 33MHz. once you go over a certain speed, the + 33 is dropped and the memory runs on a 1:1 clock with your cpu fsb

Electronics run on smoke. If you let the smoke out, they no worky any more.

uh. no.

333 is a 166fsb x 2 = 333. 133 x 2 = 266 and 200 x 2 = 400. it is multiplied by two because of the DDR bus, which is in effect twice the usual speed. for cpu and PC2700 to be running together, the FSB needs to be 166.

Nah, back then you could up the multiplier or voltage anytime you wanted, on any processor, and any motherboard. None of this FSB RAM timing crap...
