I just ordered a retail barton 2500 from newegg today and paid 94 bux then went to svc and got a sk7 with a ystech fan for it and I cant wait to get it! Now i have to ship my 1700!!!!!

the Barton 2500+ is a kickass CPU.. you're gonna love it..

I have a CoolerMaster HHC-001 atop my 2500+ and it runs awesome!!

great price on these CPU's!!

Mine is running with a "mild" overclock of 12.5x166. Boots up as a 2800XP. Using a SLK800 with a 80mm Thermaltake Smart fan. Haven't tried to push it any further yet.

When you attach your SK-7, take note of how the heatsink can slide back and forth on its clip, and make sure to position the heatsink as far away from the raised, solid-plastic end of the CPU socket as you can. Otherwise the heatsink can ride up on the plastic section of the CPU socket and then Bad Things can occur :Q Have fun with your new setup! 🙂

Nothing beats stock heatsink with 6000rpm fan!!! Its only 3 dollars worth, and is mighty kickass! Im so happy i posses an analytical mind! 🙂

That's exactly where I am running mine also. (my PC2700 RAM won't oc for beans with the ULTRA settings selected. (after a VERY unscientific test, I found that for my setup, I got more performance from the CL=2 tweak and ULTRA than what little FSB increase I could achieve with these sticks and less aggressive timing settings.)

My heatsink is a little different (PAL 8045) but that's not the limiter with my components.

Are you sick about that stock heatsink? I got a sk7 with a ystech fan and under load it is at 42 degrees c. I first put it under the stock one and it was at that without load. I even changed the fan to the ystech and put it back on and it dropped it some but in no way does it compare with the copper. NO WAY. Thanks for the replys tho guys. I love my barton and it hits xp 3200 no problem at 42c. Take it light... I need new memory now to get it all out of the processor to sit there at that speed.
