I just ordered a 8RDA. Should I have gotten an 8RDA+?

I have a soundblaster audigy, so the onboard sound and firewire that's on the 8RDA+ isn't necessary for me. I also have a PCI LAN card, so why get rid of it?

Am I missing something here by just getting an 8RDA instead of an 8RDA+?

No, if you are'nt using surround sound or have a desire to and don't care about firewire, you made the right choice, though some claims say the on-board 6-channel is close in sound performance to the Audigy2. I really like my 8RDA.

Onboard sound isn't close to the Audigy and the Audigy2 is the best sound card for the price right now, But then again if you don't need that kind of sound or have the speakers the onboard will do a nice job

im torn b/w the two as well
i figure i will go ahead and get a new case and mobo now and wait for the RAM and CPU prices to drop
i have a turtle beach santa cruz sound card that i love, will onboard sound on the + be worth it or not?
i have logitech z-540's so i dont have 4.1 or 5.1 speakers or anything.

I've heard comparisons to the Audigy classic, but never to the Audigy2. Having both, I would say the A2 sounds better for both music and games (EAX HD = awesome); the only feature the 5.1 SoundStorm has that I wish the A2 had is the real-time DD encoding (A2 uses CMSS2 upmixing).
