I just opened a can of coke and...

...it was only half full. How odd. Course, once a friend of mine told me he got a completely empty can, just full of air and sealed and everything.

I've gotten one of those little bags of m&ms with only 1 in it. (And they call it fun sized...)

Ha, ha >pointing with finger...<
Works for me... ;)

Did the "half-coke" taste normal? Perhaps they forgot to add the water...

Doctorweir - thats a good theory. i bet that coke would have tasted DAMN good if there wasn't any water. or he's dead now, thus the reason for not responding to his own thread :p

er... it could also be that john started like 3 threads in the course of 5 minutes... just buggin ya john!

OH!!!!! IT WAS AWFUL!!!! Worst thing I've ever had in my life! I thought I would die!

Nah, just kidding. It tasted fine, just like any regular ol' coke. It probably just didn't get quite as much squirted in on the belt goin by in the factory.

<< Or maybe it's the fact that he's started 3 threads within the last 5 minutes >>

And damn proud of it! ;) Anandtech--the Anti-Life.

I work a job in a grocery store and sometimes when we are stocking cases your arm flies-up really fast when you grab something out of the box because it's empty. Normally that's the only way we can tell. Doesn't happen too much, but nothing is safe from it.

having a restauarant in the family for years, i've come across (very rare) empty cans of pop... coke, pepsi, 7up... 7up the most, a few cokes, and only about 1 pepsi (back in the 80s). these cans usually did not show any sign of damage (ie. pinholes) i guess they just forgot to fill them? :p

I once had a coke can filled with clear water. There was also a plastic baggy with a crisp $1 bill inside.

I've gotten a couple of cans that had nothing in them.. Coincidentally, they were all Cherry Cokes. I've also had a couple that were either about half or three quarters full.. I didn't open them, though. I kept one of each and sent them back for a free case.

If you ever worked on a bottling line you would realize that is a fairly common occurence. The line is supposed to have a detector to kick out the partially filled cans, something apparently went wrong there.

If you still have the can, you may want to write Coke (include all the codes on the can)-maybe they will send you something, like a coupon for a free six pack, or something.

I had a friend who worked at Millers years ago. Back then, they sold these short fills in the company store to employees (sold by weight of the case at an incredibly cheap price). We used to take these on "camping" trips, but with a half dozen guys you would need at least two trunkloads of beers. In the morning we would have an incredible mountain of empties.

my friend once got an empty beer can(sealed and all) from good ol' keystone light.

Anyway, he called keystone, they sent him a mug, as well as a free tshirt. They can't send a coupon for free beer though.

I say you call coke, I am sure they will do something for you

I had a can of pepsi on my desk for like a year....it never got hit or shaken up or anything but one day I noticed that everything had leaked from the can....so I took the can and opened it, then filled it with water to look for a leak and there wasn't one....wierd

It happens, I've seen several half-filled soda cans.

The strangest one I've seen was a Kleenex box. Looked completely normal, sealed & everything. But there wasn't a single tissue in it.
