Here is the basic Layout

I'm a sophmore in HS.

Geometry: C-
English 10: B+
Spanish 2: D
History 10: B
Photo 2: B+
Health: B

GPA 2.50

My mom got the card before I did :(:|. She is on the phone, I see verbal abuse after. I can explain Geometry that I make stupid little mistakes on the tests (Which I do, like forget to put the Radical Sign on answers). But for Spanish the teacher is such a hoe. He crams, he doesn't teach. Seriously, I haven't learned a thing from that class and I am now lost from Spanish since I forgot everything from Spanish 1. He crams and gives us just a day to study for 50 word vocab tests. Makes us get the definitions by ourselves, our own time. Homework usually consists of conjugating 10 verbs, 30question sheet, and 3pgs from a packet. IMHO that is a hell of alot of work. So I refuse to do the homework. What the hell am I going to do?? Now my parents are surely going to give me the speach I won't be able to drive because my grades when buying insurance and I won't be able to go to college and i'll be some bum when I grow up. FVCK!!! Thats why I just want to open up a shop or go prostitute my self for money. If my dad knows about this, i'll probably say bye bye computers and life and camera. This is gonna really suck...

<< So I refuse to do the homework >>

Sorry to hear about your grades and stuff, but not doing your homework doesn't help your case at all.
Grow up, do the homework even though you hate the teacher. You're only hurting yourself...

I don't think anyone here would spend about 3hrs on HW for a class day after day on a language they would never use (in my case). Knowing 3 languages I know is good, but it's just too much.

Tell your mom it looks better than my report card, and I make a lot of money. That'll calm her down.

<< Time to get off the forums. ;) >>

I've been trying to say that, I get most of my HW done in school. I get home (Since my friend moved), I have no friends that live around me, my only companion is AT. So I go, "I need to do my Spanish HW". I get off AT..look at the HW, throw it in the trash and get back on the comp. It's just too gay.

That's the real problem, right there.

Not that I can blame you, I'm pretty much the same way. Get over it now, otherwise college WILL be a losing cause.

Progress Report Card=1st quarter report card?

Ouch...better get those grades up otherwise colleges will not be too happy. They will look over a few quarters (especially since you are an underclassman) and chalk it up to poor teaching or a family problem, that is, assuming you rebound and do better the next quarter. Don't worry, hope isn't lost. :)

Heh, urbantechie, I don't think you'd like to see my report card, you might kill me. ;)

Hey I feel your pain man. I'm a junior in HS and have had a similar problem since 9th grade. When I had spanish, my teachers were complete asses and piled on the homework as if their class was the only one in existance. As for the problems with math, well, you're on your own there man, I made small mistakes but rarely went below A-.

I'll post my recent report card tonight (my mom took it as she always does, in preparation of the "WTF IS YOUR PROBLEM? How do you expect to get into a college with these grades?" speech, and forgot to give it back). My best grade was 94 (computer science, of cource), lowest 66 (english, fscking english piessing me off, I can speel perfecktly).

Dude you need to stop whining, get into AP Euro or AP Bio, and you will think your Spanish 2 class is simple.

I guess I'm in a better situation :p

I'm also in the 10th grade in HS

*AP European History (The teacher's great in there) - 91
*Analysis (Honors Pre-Cal - gives you AP level honor points) - 90
World History Honors (The same teacher, the same material as the AP course :p) - 93
*Chemistry Honors (Nice teacher also) - 96
*American Literature Honors (This is the worst teacher ever - it's widely known on campus that he's a homo - he gives quizes BEFORE he explains the material) - 89 (although I should have a 90 after today's test - I think I did pretty well on it)
Spanish III Honors (Most students think the teacher is very attractive in this class, although I dis agree. I'll try to find a pic later) - 92

whew... that was a rant!

btw- "*'s" mean that the course is above level - ie. 11th or 12th grade course

Sophmore also:
AP US History - B ( weighted A)
AP Chemistry - B ( weighted A)
AP Comp. Sci A - A
German II - C ( almost B)
Geometry - A or high B
Essay Writing- A ( advanced English)

AP US History, I have the highest grade by far in the class, because the tests are like 90 multiple questions, and we have around 35-40 minutes... and most people do bad.(Most kids are Juniors & Seniors) :)

AP Chemistry, VERY HARD class, around 70% of class is composed of Seniors, this class gives me the most homework by FAR.

AP Comp. Sci A, a fun class that is composed of all seniors except me and my friend, luckily no homework, but some hard projects.

German II, UGH! I have a lot of friends in this class ( about everyone in class) but I am just bad at foreign language, and have ABSOLUTETLY no interest at ALL in this class. The teacher is a prick, and we have tons of BS homework.

Geometry, I should be in Algerbra II, but I decided to stay back a year to make it easier on my other harder classes, plus Comp. Sci. is a math credit anyways. Rather easy class, however I'm usually doing Chemistry homework in the class.

Essay Writing, hard class, however I love writing essays, and I'm pretty talented at them.

And I still have a social life. :) Plus I play Ice hockey and basketball.... My tips are to not procastinate as MUCH. ( I know it's hard, but the less you procrastinate, the easier it comes to you. Also, it's not as stressfull. ) My friend is in a situation like you, he's been 16 for like 3 months, but due to his grades he can't get his license. I don't feel sorry for him, because in AP Chemistry he doesn't even take notes and wonders why he has an F or D.

Math 3 Honors- 96.2% (teacher is a b!tch, but I respect her teaching methods...)- A
Spanish 3 (there are no Honors language courses at my high school, but there are Lang. #B courses for those that are average)- 94% on tests/quizzes, my participation grade isn't too great because it's first period so I only got an - A-
English 10 Honors - A
Global Studies 10 Honors- 101% - A+
Electricity and Electronics - 95% - A

BTW, I go to a top200 high school in america (out of 10,000). :)

Damn I feel left out, there are like no honors classes at my school, so if you want a 5.0 u need AP classes. Like Chemistry honors, that class is a joke, if you want a 5.0 u should have to take AP Chem, same with Spanish 3.
