He's 45 stone, he lost 28 stone, dummy.

FFS stone? I thought pounds were a stupid unit of measure, but fuck, stone?
They also rate people by refrigerator. An average woman weighs 1 refrigerator.

oh man i live on mt dew, 4-5 cans gets me through the day

maybe ill cut back to 2 and see if i ca n still stay awake...

Just look at it this way. If you drink 5 cans a day that's 850 calories/day, which is 5950 calories a week. That means if everything else you ate made you break even on in/out calories the soda would be making you gain over a pound an a half a week. If you want to lose weight without exercising a ton you're going to have to cut all sugared soda out of your diet.

I went from 270 pounds down to 219 and I'm still losing. I used the sugar buster diet. Here's what I did in a nut shell:

-No refined sugar: HFCS, table sugar, corn syrup, anything. Sodas are gone forever.
-No really starchy foods: White potatoes, white rice, pasta, flour, etc are gone forever.
-No pineapple or bananas
-Increase lean meat and protein intake
-Eat three meals per day, making lunch the largest. Breakfast and dinner are small.
-Exercise 5 times per week
-Drink lots of water

When you're craving sweets, drink water. When you're craving fat, eat peanut butter.

Jesus I cannot comprehend why Americans don't like stone, it is the measurement above pounds, it's like saying oh I'm x Inches tall rather than using feet.

The imperial system is retarded enough without stones.

Here's another pic from that link I posted above with the fat guy. I'm not sure if this is supposed to be funny, but it has an element of truth. That guy ordering a diet soda with his triple whopper isn't a retard. Every little bit helps.

LOL, 375lb!

A guy makes a post about how he is faced with the realization of being obese, and all you can do is post an LOL? Really?

OP, there is a lot of good advice in this thread. Water is very important to losing weight from what I understand. Perhaps buy a 32 ounce nalgene water bottle, and commit to drinking one morning, noon, and evening? That is 96 ounces of water right there, and will also help you feel a little bit full at times.

The soda is a real killer, and often goes with salty processed snacks I bet. Consider talking to a nutritionist/dietitian too. Food that is satisfying does not have to be unhealthy, once you adjust to substitutes for soda and the bad food choices it will get easier, I bet the initial adjustment period will be hardest.

Best of luck to you.

Yeah, even for ATOT standards I'm pretty disgusted at how many people in this thread that have gone "LOL, fat!" or something to that effect.

This is the best advice yet. At 375lbs you can't be picky or slow about changing your diet. You have abused your body for long enough and the only way things will change is if you make drastic changes. A pound a week isn't gonna cut it.

I'm 6'1" and have weighed right at 200 lbs. for the last 20 years. Every time I go to the doctor they tell me I'm to fat and I should only weigh 175 lbs.

About a year ago I cut out all fast food and now I'm down to a solid 187. I have no desire to weigh 175 lbs., but 180 is my goal.

I will look like a scarecrow with my ribs sticking out and anexoric looking arms, but wtf, that's where medical science says I should go.

My suggestion to the OP is to take little steps and set attainable goals like cutting 20 pounds from his gut. If it takes six months then so be it, at least he is making progress.

Fruit juice has as much sugar as soda, and diet soda tastes like ass. I'm of the philosophy that it's better to have a little bit of something delicious, rather than all you want of something crappy.

There has never been any conclusive evidence that "fake sugars" have negative health effects. This is probably the most pervasive medical myth I know - almost everyone I talk to believes it.

Aspartame has been found to be safe for human consumption by more than ninety countries worldwide,[13][14] with FDA officials describing aspartame as "one of the most thoroughly tested and studied food additives the agency has ever approved" and its safety as "clear cut".[4] The weight of existing scientific evidence indicates that aspartame is safe as a non-nutritive sweetener.[8]

I'm 5'10"... I probably weighed 425-450 at my heaviest (I can't say for sure because I didn't have a scale that I could weigh myself on... my highest "recorded" weight was 415 at my nutritionist's office, but I had been losing a bit of weight on my own prior to that).

then I decided to lose weight and dropped down to 150 (but I looked like I had cancer, so I gained some weight on purpose... maybe a little too much, but I'm still pretty comfortably normal. currently wearing size L shirts and 33-34" pants. I'd kinda like to get back down to M + 32" this spring)

the absolute easiest thing you can do is cut out high calorie drinks. they're fucking horrible for you. not only are they loaded with calories, they do nothing to satiate hunger... if you're going to consume 250 calories of shit, you may as well just have a slice of cake. at least the cake will satisfy your hunger for a few minutes.

after reading some studies that linked diet sodas with increased hunger, I'd cut the carbonated beverages all together. stick with water (flavored or plain) and milk. if you drink coffee, replace your sugar with artificial sweetener and your cream with skim milk.

also, I've found eating breakfast to be super, super important (and specifically, a high protein breakfast. I usually do greek yogurt on work days and eggs on weekends). if I skip breakfast or eat a low-protein breakfast, I find myself hungrier earlier in the day, which in turn leads to an early lunch and then by the time I get home from work for dinner, I'm so ravenously hungry that I'll reach for whatever I can have on my plate in under 3 minutes rather than cooking a proper, healthy meal.

He is not American.

P.S. Why do you get such a hard-on trying to hate on Americans?
