got a new canon S400 digicam, it has a panorama feature which i used to take 17 pictures in a circle around the living room. then used this software called photostitch (by canon, came w/ the camera) which automatically merged the pics.

took 5 mins, really awesome stuff!

cOOL, I drive through williamsburg/bayridge and park slope pretty often - i probably subconciously remember that corner...

My Coolpix 5700 will take a 1 minute QT movie. Would it be possible to take one of those and do that VR trick to it?

nope. i have a video mode too but all you can really do with a video mode is have it circle around yoru room and maybe loop, but then its not controllable by user, its either on play or stop.

this MOV file isnt' really a movie, its a quicktime panorama, note you can't "play" but you can navigate around like a giant photo.

with the photostitch program you can combine photos taken with your coolpix and make what i have.
