Mr Traffic Warden just picked it up from my work now :) Lost it due to demerit points, most from speeding. I guess I should be crying like all the other people on here who get fined LOL It's not fair, I don't deserve to loose it....My dad is gonna kill me....Can I get out of it.....hehehehe yeah right....Accept responsibility for your actions I always say.

This is quite good actually, I can drink more, don't have to drive and save money on petrol. Second time around for me, so I'm getting used to it. :)

Oh, I suppose I shouldn't tell you my age then either.....20.5 years old....Since I got my license at 17, that wouldn't impress you would it?

It's called LIFE. I love it how you tell me to grow up, you don't even know me!

Well, knowing that you lost your license twice in less than 4 years is knowing you enough to make such a statement, I'd say. I praise your attitude of not whining or trying to blame anyone other than yourself, but responsibility is only a part of it.

Learning from (and not repeating) your mistakes is the other part.

I fail to see how a slight lead foot equates to not being grown up... Most of the tickets where between 10-15 km's over the speed limit. Which is pretty much the speed most people drive at. Because I got penalised for my actions, does that make me less mature than the next person who does it, but gets away with it? I think not.

Immature people do not learn from their mistakes. You do not seem remorseful, even now.

You have said all I need to hear. You are an immature prick. You deserve to be without a license.

<< a slight lead foot >>

This is the second time they yank your license, and you think your problem is slight? :Q

Granted, there are worse things you could have done, but one day your speeding may hurt someone. They don't take you off the road for no good reason.

I never said I didn't deserve to be without a license. I know I do, hence I'm not crying about the situation.

As for name calling, well, that's REAL mature isn't it.

Remorseful? Not really. Am I supposed to feel bad? I did wrong, I'm paying the price. As for learning from my mistakes. Well, In the last year and a half, I lost ONE point from one ticket. I think that's learning, since the year before was 4 tickets in 4 months. Don't you think that's learning from my mistakes?

You need a lesson in manners, I think.

So, DaLeroy, do you think that a hefty fine relative to what you make but no demerits would be a better deterrent for you to not drive over the speed limit? Or do you think having demerits and your license taken away is a better deterrent?

The point of one ticket is to make you slow down and think about what you are doing. You are showing the world that you have no regard for your life and property and others lives and properties. You have no regard for the government and authority. 4 tickets in four months is complete and utter foolishness.

You have a major lead foot, you haven't learned, and you don't seem to care.

No, actually it wouldn't. I too got my license at 17. I drove a big block Chevy for 4 years. It was fast. I now drive a quick Nissan. I'm 23 (almost 24).

I've never had a ticket.
I've only been pulled over once - not for speeding either. (The cops thought I looked like someone that shoots people. I was searched and let go without them even asking my name.)

I've got several friends that have "street" cars and they don't even have the kind of record you do.

SOoooo,

eff'n grow up.

Everything you said up to this point was ok. After you said this, I had to say that your delivery sucks and that he ain't the only one that needs to "eff'n" be careful. Be a little bit more tactful and nice and he might actually become more mature.

Which bit of my last post didn't you understand?

I said I had one ticket in the last year and a half....That seems to me to be learning. :)

You say I have no regard for government and authority. How do you justifiy that statement? Simply because I speed? I have a fairly high regard for the law. Just because one speeds doesn't change that. If you don't indicate when turning, you face a fine. However, it doesn't mean that you show disregard for the law if you don't indicate once or twice.

By Australian standards, my record isn't that bad actually. My older bro has lost his license a number of times (he just got it back after 6 months). Over here, the penalities aren't as stiff as in the US. And for the record, I haven't killed anyone when driving, caused any human injury. The majority of my points where lost a number of years ago, when I first got my license. I'm not the rev-head I was then, heck I still love my V8, but I never once got a fine in it....

I love it how you look down on people, simply because of a few speeding fines....it's quiet funny actually.... :)

I take it this is over the Finland (I think) episode....Um, I'd rather demerits and license taken away then a fine relative to what I make....

Some of you guys make no sense. Suddenly people are going to be hurt and or die because he is doing 60mph in a 50mph zone? What planet are you on? Use some common sense.

I feel there should be two forms of speed "limits." In populated place (like college campuses) there should be speed limits which are strictly enforced. If you exceed these limits, your car is impounded. In other areas "suggested speeds" should be posted. Signs would indicate at what speed a turn can be safely negotiated. In these "suggested speed" zones, common sense is used. If you are driving unsafely in these areas, you are fined.

These idiots that speed on college campuses where there are thousands of people walking around should not have driver's licenses. On the other hand, why should we have to go 55mph in the middle of nowhere? 65mph on the interstate? GET REAL

Nobody should be giving DaLeroy a hard time unless he or she themselves has NEVER exceeded the speed limit. Those of you who have exceeded the speed limit are just as "bad" as he is. Those of you who haven't exceeded the speed limit, GET OFF THE ROAD.

It's actually 10 km over the speed limit, not miles. Yeah, not sure why everyone jumped down my neck at this, was simply posting what happened today. But there will always be do-gooders who think they are so much better than everyone else, and have to show off the enormous 'wisdom'. :)

Yes, I realized that, DaLeroy. That means you were doing an unheard of 6.25mph over the limit. I'm sure none of your critics have ever performed such a horrible, despicable act.

Well I can give props for you being the first guy to get a major driving penalty and not bitch and whine like it wasn't your fault and the cop was being an ass. Horay! :D
