This summer I sat on my ass all day and worekd in a cubicle so i pretty much never moved and managed to get up to 155lbs (6ft tall, so that is still pretty slim), but then I went back to college and run around alot playing frisbee and such and I cam back some the next week to get some sh|t and I had lost 15lbs! I guess if I was a woman I'd probably want to be able to lost 15lbs in a week by doing nothing, but personally I want to gain weight so i'm not a bony loser, but my body absolutely refuses to keep any fat reserves.

I envy you, you don't want fat reserves, what you need to do is build muscle. Because you're skinny, building muscle will show a lot more and you'll look ripped after a while.

It's difficult for people who have trouble gaining weight to pack on muscle.

sweet I've gained 2.5lbs in about 6 days :)

but i started bulking last wednesday and just loaded on my celltech supplement and forcing myself to take 3 protein shakes a day.

EDIT:

i too used to be one of those skinny fvcks who couldn't gain weight to save his life. then when I was a softmore in college i started lifting. I am 5'11 and back then I weight probably 145 - 150lbs. At the end of my softmore year I was ripped as all hell but I was only 155lbs.

now i fluctuate between 185 - 178, and i'm still pretty damn lean. Not as ripped as I was when I was 155 but a lot bigger and stronger. I remember when I was 155lbs and I finally benched 135 for the first time ... best feeling ever. Well not as good as benching 225lbs 8 times heh.

so yah, anyone can do it. some people can do it easier than others however, but everyone can do it. i'm hoping to get up to around 200lbs in my bulking cycle right now and then get cut to around 195. but we'll see if I can get up that high.

An esomorph like this guy has to eat a lot and workout hard. Only in a caloric surplus will he be able to gain any weight, but that's probably obvious.

I was 6'1" and 145 in high school, but over the years I've been able to get to ~200lbs and about 13-15% body fat. You don't grow if you don't eat, and the amount required is usually underestimated. He needs to know his BMR and what it takes to get a caloric surplus of 500-1000 calories a day (I usually don't go over 500).
