She didn't even flinch, and seeing me keel over in pain (I was barefoot and we had b0ne-to-bone contact) she took the opportunity to snatch the ball away from me.

She started breathing heavily:( but so far she looks fine...I think I knocked the wind out of her

Basically, like always, she likes to have me dribble ball, and then I give it a good kick in the air for her to catch (she usually does). Our backyard has a small hill running across it and she jumped the gun and jumped off it it in an effort to catch the ball before I kicked it.

I wasn't playing seriously or anything, so I wasn't expecting her to do that and we made contact.

Damn dog....:| I there lying in pain and she is wagging her tail looking at me with a grin on her face and the ball now in her procession:|

I'm just glad she's alright. I massaged her jaw and gave her a few treats just make sure she won?t talk to the authorities;)

She is a large German shepherd btw

did you cuddle her to make her realize it was an accident?

that reminds me of when my sister was playing with her guinea pigs, jumping about with them, and she accidently landed on one's head (leading, ultimately, to it's death).

imagine how it would feel if something like that happened with a human baby or toddler... Like that poor guy who backed his car out of the drive way, crushing his toddler's head in the process

Of course dude..I'm not some unpassionate bastard....after I got up I called her and said sorry about a zillion times and massaged her...all in between my cries of pain:D

the contact was made on my foot...the arch, whatever it is called...google turned up unconclusive results

Nice to know you will never have to worry about that, isn't it? :)

I came into the thread expecting to hear cries of animal abuse and threats to contact the SPCA.

Instead, I just find out you got owned by the dog.
