Which SETI client are you running? I'd suggest the CLI client and using SETI Driver to manage the client and cache work units.

And yes, we do compete against other teams. 🙂 Right now in SETI we're chasing after the SETI@Netherlands team.

You will find that this is a fun little project. Weather it's SETI, RC5, GF, OGR, or ECCp-109. The ppl here will have answers to computer problems faster and a lot more reliable then in other forums. Feel free to sit down, relax, and have fun. 😉 😀

Btw what machine(s) do you run SETI on?
I see you have a nice fast machine yourself ,with SETIDriver you should see about 5hrs per WU 😀
 
well that machine in my rig isn't the rig that I have been using. I am going to be building it tonight. So when i post next, that should be the correct rig, right now i am on my athlon 550 w/ 128 mb of ram (PC100 not sure is cas2 or cas3) I will be setting this comp up to run seti constantly until i sell it(hopefully soon)
I have been using the graphical seti program, and have been working on this WU for about 14 hours and its only 20 percent done. I need to switch to the CLI badly. I will follow that link that someone gave farther up on this thread.
 
You have to check the option "go to blank screen" !!! This can decrease your WU time by up to 50% !

14hrs and only 20%!! ya been watching it!? if so, don't!! i know it's nice and pretty, but it SERIOUSLY harms ya Work Unit times!!

as Sukhoi said, use the cli and Seti Driver, and u will probably see WU times of about 5hrs
