Well, you probably need to set the FSB back down to 133. Just crank up the Multiplier to get more MHz... Either that or set your ram to manual and keep it at 133mhz and crank the fsb.... It sounds like it's cranking up the ram along with your fsb. The ram probably can't handle it. It would be better to keep the fsb and ram in sync.

Just increase the multi and see how it does.

I've got a 1700+ that runs rock stable at 2600+ speed (2.08Ghz) with a nice copper cooler (although it was a cheapie at only $14). Oddly though, it does all this at an idle temp of around 36 degrees and a loaded temp of 39-40 degrees. Sweet deal if you ask me!

But this is all based on Multiplier increases. I have my RAM set to 166 and my FSB at 133 with a 15X multiplier (If I recall correctly; it might be 14X, I'd better check :)

yeah, like everyone has said so far, it seems more like ur RAM is holding you back, it probably can't handle the 166FSB that you are trying to hit, try setting the RAM speed independently from that of ur CPU's FSB, and you should be able to hit the 166FSB on ur CPU while ur ram is running on 133.

BUT!!! if you want to hit even higher speeds, i recommend getting higher quality ram that will allow you to his the DDR400 speeds or higher, this will be more benificial to you in the long run and will bring out the full potential of ur CPU.

hope this helps.

also, just wondering, what program are you using to make ur windows GUI look like that? i like it :)
