ok its all running but when I go to startx I get an error that says "could't start kdeinit. Check installation" it also say it couldn't start ksnserver. I am wondering whats up with it.
Sounds like KDE isn't installed properly; perhaps try reinstalling and selecting GNOME for your desktop environment instead of KDE...Originally posted by: Instan00dles

If you want to test X, don't load a window manager. If it starts, you know you have a problem with KDE, which it already seems like you do.Originally posted by: Instan00dles
I was told that GNOME takes up alot of sys requirments. Anyways I think I forgot to install the libraries cause it says it is missing them. Never noticed before. Thanks.
Basic GNOME applications and the libraries that they use aren't really any more bloated than KDE and its libraries. GNOME is just a lot slower (from what I've heard) when you use its Nautilus (iirc that's what it's called) file manager. I personally prefer KDE anyway, so it's been a while since I've used GNOME, and that's why my memory isn't too great about it.Originally posted by: Instan00dles

Oh yea, you really should install the KDE libraries as well. That should make it work much better.![]()
