So it's like 12:15 am here and my mom was asleep and I have my TV on and all of a sudden I can hear my sister say from the bathroom "There's blood everywhere". She just had her tonsils out (she's 20, they were infected or something) and I guess she threw up blood. I really don't want to leave this room and see what's up. Good thing my mom is an RN and is used to this kind of stuff.

I lost my appetite too...and I was looking forward to some NesTea and a banana.

Oh poor you, your sister should have been more considerate of your feelings. Douche

Chaotic is right. Check on her. If she chokes and dies you'd feel very bad. She'd do that for you.

I'm not a fan of blood, etc. either, but I'm not a pansy when someone needs help. Go check on her.

I guess she's ok. Throwing up hasn't been unusual for her for the past few days since it can be expected from the medication she's taking. Somehow I guess the area they performed the surgery on just started bleeding and then yeah, bloody throwup.

Yeah I'm an insensitive bastard I know, nothing new.

Wow are you serious? If someone is screaming for help would you run in the opposite direction? o_O

Screaming is different for me. The one time my sister screamed cause she saw one of those trick things on the computer where the face popped up I ran to find her since it seemed pretty serious...however, in this case it would be better for my mom to handle it. I'd just get in her way, she'd call if she needed help with anything. Plus, I'd probably just get sick as well if it was bad enough...I've had my own horrible experiences along the same line...minus the tonsils part.

A family member is the real cream here.

I understand your mom's an RN and all that... but I still would've gone and checked on her, even if it was just for a second.

That's just me though, and clearly other people feel differently.

Well I spoke to my sister. It happened just as I described it basically. However, I now know the fact that there's little specks of blood splattered over everything in the bathroom that my sister says she doesn't want to clean up. That is awesome, I can't wait to brush my teeth.

It's just some blood... Looking at that stuff doesn't make me queasy at all... it's the smell of blood/feces/urine/what-have-you that affects me.
