Wow, I didn't realize the Shuttle traveled faster than the speed of sound minutes before landing. I assumed it slowed to a 350mph glide.

It does..when Chuck Norris stares it down.

18 times lightspeed according to CNN.

The audio's real low here so turn up your sound to hear the boom.

Howard Stern had better ideas for employing low-frequency sounds generated by powerful speakers.

Nasa television backs up the path that "destrekor" showed. They said it landed from the northwest. Came across the NW US and into Florida. Shuttle is accompanied by 2 Sonic Booms when it lands. I guess 1 for nose and one for tail? But I live 20 mins away from KSC and always hear it land. The two booms are less than a second apart, but distinctly separate.

That was definitely one of the loudest sonic booms I have ever experienced, and I have lived in/near Orlando most of my life. It scared the crap out of my two year old.
