I just have to do it: why was this one locked?

I don't deserve a response? Threads locked for no reason and no response to the question posed? I'm not the only one that seemed to think an answer would be nice (in the first one) and the thread hadn't been posted to for 5 days. That just makes it seem like it was done to spite me.
You know better than to repost this question after it was locked once already. What you deserve is a vacation. Especially since these conspiracy theory posts are causing me to wonder about your mental stability. You probably need a real vacation. Take a few days off, stroll on the beach and have a drink with an umbrella in it.

I actually took a couple of days not coming here. Then I ended up having to read twice as many thread titles. :)

I'm not a conspiracy theorist, I just don't like being ignored and then completely and blatantly snubbed multiple times. They can't exactly blame me for asking when they just lock threads for no apparent reason. Most locks can be easily explained, I don't consider it "too much work" to explain the ones that aren't obvious.

Because they don't feel like trying to explain why they do some illogical things at times?

Or not. I'd rather get an answer than be ignored and told that they don't have time to provide an explanation for actions like this.

If a toddler's walking towards a power socket with a fork, you don't just take the fork away and point him in another direction. You tell him why he shouldn't do it.

Before anybody else does, I'll bring up the obvious analogy of me and a toddler.

There wasn't a reason for it to be locked. I am as clueless as you are.

So then I, as a subscriber, would then be allowed to question, and, as a subscriber, be entitled to a response or explanation?

no
I believe that was a rhetorical question, in response to poMONKey's question.

Hey Lord Evermore did you get all of those thousands of posts thru threads like this one? :D

No, I got them by being a helpful member of the forums for the past 5 years or so, for which I made Elite back when it almost meant something. :p

As for me not having a life outside the forums. My post count IS only a fourth of the LOWEST person on the top 10 contributors list.

And I am considering subscribing just so I can say I did and didn't get anything out of it.

Well, it was meant as a rhetorical question with a little stupidity sprinkled on top. ;)

I was initially curious as to why it was locked also, as I have had a few locked myself with no explanation given. I just don't bother to question the mods anymore, but still, one has to wonder...????

Locking threads that ask about the handling of thread lockings and deletings certainly doesn't sound like a good way to handle user problems. :)

they get advertising, sure, but who doesnt... i still have gotten a lot of valuable info out of this site for free...

you pay, then they owe you something... come on... nothing is flawless, people get ripped all the time. if you are one of those unlucky few... move on... theres more ripping to come!

aves2k... you gave 2 examples. how many subscribers they have here? and lordcomplainevermore was quick to jump in there in one thread and whine about something that "he" doesnt subscribe to...

They owe you more bandwidth, PM space, and maybe a few other things that I'm forgetting. Moderator favors are not expressly included in the deal (at least AFAIK ). Neither are those favors expressly denied from those who do not subscribe. There is a reason why the moderators can not see who is a subscriber and who is not. All are treated equally in matters of forum moderation (or, at least, that's the way it's supposed to work).
