I just had the worst night of poker ever...

game is No Limit Texas Hold'em

buy in is $20...6 people at the table

i am up about $20, total $40...

no real bets happening and there is 9 9 J 9 on the table, i have a J 2...i slow pay and bet $3
only one player calls.

Ace falls...I bet $20, one other player calls...he has the Ace


3 hands later....i have J 8 and stay in...flop is, 8 9 10...i bet $1...one person calls...7 falls on the turn...i go all in with ~$17...someone calls with $10...he has J Q


a couple hands later, before the flop i have K A...I go all in...same person as the last hand calls...he has Q A...but now he has more

J 10 7 is the flop...9 on the turn....8 on the river...he beats me with 8 9 10 J Q straight...

ARGH!!!.....the only thing i should have done is not slow play the full house, besides that this is the most unlucky night I think I have ever had

yeah no limit...and yes, the first hand was def. that i let him see the river....i normally dont do that, but I was being greedy on that hand

but I still was even at that point...it was the next 2 that really killed me

yeah, just annoying, because 4 outta 5 times I make money, we normally play till 1am and then split it between 2 or 3 players...tonight i was first out and thats the first time thats ever happened to me
 
just sux, cause I could have really used the win tonight...most nights it dont matter, thats probably why i lost...when u could really use the extra money, you bet differently then when its all for fun

Well, the AK is the only hand I think you played unluckily for. J8 isn't a calling hand for me (let alone a raising hand, as you'll run into that J8 vs JQ hand more times than you'd think). 😀

I just came back from playing in a home game -- I lost about $10, but lost most of it on crappy beats. 🙂

One hand, in on a blind, 79o. J 7 9 falls with two hearts; someone bets, I raise, someone else moves all-in, and I call. He has Q4h. No hearts fall, but he catches runner-runner Q 4 for a higher two pair. He didn't put me all-in, but I lost about $7 on that hand...really never caught up after that. Mostly bad cards -- had JJ once (my best hand), but laid it down when I was raised and re-raied (turns out it was JJ, KK, and AA on the same hand).

Overall, I played well, but still lost money. It happens. 🙂

me and my friends are all gamblers, that is what makes us friends and we play poker alot.

we started playing 1-2, 2-4, 3-6 and raising the stakes after a couple of rounds or whenever the dealer was feeling up to it.

but recently when there is 6 of us we now play mini tourneys, with a $20 buy in and the the winner take all, if there is 8 or more of us, we have second place finishers, and then if there 10 of us (happens once in a while) there is a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.

Most nights, you win one tourney and lose three or four breaking even, but sometimes you can't win sh!t and lose about $100 (very rare)

that has had me stopped playing online poker (have lost a sh!tload of money, money that I really couldn't afford to lose)
 
This is what happened to me last time I played

I have 5 2 suited and I figured I'd look at the flop........... flop 5 5 6........... I just check whoever bets bet

four street comes 6 ............ full house 😀 I all in and one guy follows, he has 5 J............... River................ J :Q son of a biotch 🙁

I know that we would have pushed but damn......... beat on the river

I rebought in and in the very first hand I have pocket Q............ I just beat like normal.......... the community cards come out I forget what they where but no help to me and 1 guy is staying in with me till the end........... he looks at me...............for like 5 minutes........... trying to get a tell............. I start shaking my leg (old habit) and he feels it and looks under the table seeing that I am shaking my leg........... he all ins me............I say sure......... he has pocket J 😀 the funny thing is during the night he lost on J J, A A and Big Slick AK 😀 He could not buy another win that night 😀

No offence, but a lot of those plays really don't seem like good ones, although its really hard to know without a good idea of blind/# left. That AK was pretty harsh though, but big slick is usually unkind 🙁

I just finished a $22 sng where I beat KK with QTs on level 2, KK with TT on level 4, and then forced him to get 4rd beating his KK with QTs on the bubble. I've never seen such a bad beat, but it was halarious how pissed off he was getting. It was his fault for slowplaying that last one though 🙂

blows dude. guess a lot more people play online poler than i thought. i usually just play at my apartment with three other friends. no limit is fun stuff though. better luck next time.
 
I played a game tonight too and on one hand I was dealt an A 8. I was standing up and had looked at the cards but no one had seen me do this so I bet so one of the players asks if I had seen my cards yet I jokingly say "nah don't need too". Everyone calls and a couple of the other people who had lost come and looks at my cards while I tell them not to reveal any info. The flop is dealt and I have a pair of A's I bet again everyone calls and the turn is a 8 I bet again but this time 2 people fold and one calls the river is dealt it was a 6. This time I throw in a substantial raise and the other person contemplates a call. He finally does and he sees that I had won. Everyone else then asks if I had seen the hand I finally give in and tell them that I had. They fume in anger while I stack my newly won chips.
